Design and analyze NDT/NDE sensors with electromagnetic simulation.
This example reproduces TEAM Benchmark 7 using EMWorks’ AC Magnetic module. A stranded coil excites an aluminum plate with an eccentric hole, and the solver computes flux density, eddy current density, Joule losses, and Bz along the A1–B1 line so you can compare directly to published benchmark data.
This application note uses EMWorks to model a twin-coil ACFM probe for non-destructive testing of surface cracks. The study evaluates current density on the specimen, By distribution, and the probe response as it scans across a crack, enabling quantitative crack sizing and faster optimization of coil and sensor configurations.
Use EMAG AC Magnetic to simulate eddy-current testing, evaluate coil impedance, and study the effects of crack size, frequency, and lift-off.
Use EMAG AC Magnetic to reproduce TEAM Problem 15, compute coil impedance over a slot in an aluminum plate, and compare ΔL, ΔR, |ΔZ|, and phase to benchmark data.
