High-voltage insulation, creepage, and clearance analysis.
This example uses EMWorks’ Electrostatic module to analyze a three-phase power-line insulator assembly. The solver computes electric field, potential, displacement field, and safety factor across air, silicon rubber, and fiberglass so you can verify creepage, clearance, and breakdown margins in high-voltage applications.
This application note studies the electrostatic field in a dual-layer dielectric cylinder placed in a uniform transverse field. Using EMAG’s Electrostatic module, the 3D model includes the inner and outer dielectric layers and surrounding air, with results compared against published benchmark data. Line plots and field distributions confirm close agreement for field values inside the dielectrics and in the ambient region.
