Primary and secondary of a power transformer carry high currents which produce significant forces on the conductors. These forces become even more prominent in case of a short circuit event, when currents are few times the nominal value. To ensure mechanical and dielectric integrity of the winding, it is important to accurately predict these forces in the design stage.
This webinar will display how to compute force on transformer conductors and identify its dominant components. Different geometric arrangements of the conductors and their effect on the force magnitude will be discussed.
