EMS 2015 SP3.2 Release

Mar 16, 2016

EMS 2015 is the eighth release of EMS as a Gold Certified add-in to Solidworks.

This is a major new release of the software that incorporates several new features at the meshing and pre-processing, solving and post-processing levels.

Below are the new capabilities that have been added in this release to provide users with more comprehensive simulation options and a more complete set of results.

User Interface

  • New EMS Feature manager tree view.

  • New Material browser control.

  • New Function curve control.

  • New 2D graphs interface.

  • Hide/Show model parts from EMS tree view control.

  • Tool tip was added to the EMS Feature Manager Tree.

  • EMS Viewer License: Read-only license of EMS that enables you to view EMS results without requiring a full license.

Solvers

  • Multi-Core Iterative Solver

  • Precision control.

  • Thermal Analysis.

  • Coil Modeling.

  • Coil Excitation and coupling to external circuits.

  • New Computed Parameters: Losses,Voltages, currents, impedance matrices, coupling coefficients between coils and various loss terms. Leakage inductance is also computed for two conductor systems.

  • Multiply Connected Conductor Regions: Conductors with one or more holes inside, i.e., multiply connected, require careful attention to obtain a unique solution. EMS now uses an automatic and more efficient approach to solving multiply connected regions that ensures solution uniqueness with speed and accuracy.

  • Coil Excitation Functions: In addition to the existing curve-based excitation definitions, you can now define excitation by functions. Implemented functions include: sinusoidal, exponential, pulse and single frequency FM (SFFM) current and voltage sources.
