Design and Simulation of a Bluetooth Antenna for Wearable Devices Using HFWorks

October 5, 2017

Wearable devices have recently become the point where fashion meets technology.  This branch of smart electronics is a great example of emerging Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Bracelets and watches are among the most popular wearables these days.  They usually employ the Bluetooth protocol to secure a connection with a handheld device like a cell phone or a tablet. These devices require omnidirectional antennas to make sure that the connectivity is maintained when the arm moves in different directions.  Moreover, the antenna needs to be low profile, printable on a flexible PCB and as tiny as possible.

This webinar will demonstrate how a miniature Bluetooth antenna for a wearable device can be designed and simulated using HFWorks* inside the SOLIDWORKS environment.

*HFWorks is our full 3D field simulation software that helps you to simulate the working and the performance of your RF/microwave passive components like antennas, filters, resonators, etc.
