EMS for NDT/NDE Applications

Thursday, March 2, 2017

Non Destructive Testing (NDT) or Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) is a set of analysis techniques used by engineers to study the properties of a material without damaging it. Some common NDT techniques like Eddy Current testing, Magnetic Particle inspection rely on the Theory of Electromagnetics. Engineers who design probes and testing equipment need to understand the magnetic field distribution, eddy currents generation to improve and optimize their designs.

In this webinar, we will show you how EMS can be a very effective software to help you understand how your NDT test equipment performs. Using EMS, you can choose the optimum size for your coils and also the best location for them inside your probe. You can also compute the change in inductance of your coil if any material defects are found. Finally, EMS allows you to view the field distribution and eddy currents generated to get a good understanding of how your designs work in real life.
