Current Analysis of Conducting Electrode Connected to a Voltage Source
The model consists of an electrode connected to a voltage source. Taking
into account the symmetry of the problem only half of the electrode
structure needs to be built and modeled. The figure below shows half
of the model with the air region.

Skin Depth in the Copper Electrode
The
first step is always to calculate the skin depth (d)
or the depth of penetration of the field for the conducting regions
using the relation:
for the current problem, the skin depth must be calculated in the copper
electrode at a frequency f = 100 Hz, m =
mo = 4p X 10-7
H/m and s = 5.8
X 107 S/m. Thus d = 6.6 mm.
