Dielectric Resonator Over a Microstrip Substrate

The following model is axysimmetric and it consists of an inhomogeneously filled cylindrical cavity. The dielectrics are e r1= 1.0 and er2 = 35.74 -j4.28*10-3. Taking into account the symmetry of the problem only a quarter of the structure need to be modeled. The cavity walls are assumed to be made of copper (Conductivity s = 5.8*107 mhos/m, skin depth d = 66.1/.

The 3D model :

In this specific problem we have a Perfect Electric Conductor Symmetry (PECS) boundary condition applied to the planes of symmetry and an Imperfect Electric Conductor (IEC), what is called lossy conductor, boundary applied to the outer walls of the air box (s1, s2 and s3).

Verification of the problem

The same parameters of the problem was measured by [1] and the results were close compared to those obtained by HFWorks.
